SPRINGFIELD, IL
Over 30 riders participated in our 1st annual – The Schlip Poker Run for Melanoma in Springfield, IL on Saturday, June 17. The event kicked-off at the VFW on Stockyard Road.
The ride included stops at The Buzzard Roost in Mount Auburn, Dinger’s Tap in Mount Pulaski , Jan’s Bar and Grill in Edinburg, Logan’s in Buffalo, and ended at the VFW.
The Emerald Underground band performed from 1:30pm-3:30pm. At 4:00pm, there was a Balloon Release Ceremony to honor Melanoma Warriors and to remember our Melanoma Angels. The Edge of Gezzer band closed out the event.
Over $1,000 in Raffle prizes were given away throughout the day, including a Bonnets & Britches Package for Two at Amish Acres in Nappanee, Indiana. At the conclusion there was a Silent Auction with autographed memorabilia from Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Matt Hotch, Joe Martin and Arlen Ness, just to name a few.
In total, the event netted over $1,000 for Melanoma Research and Awareness.
QUINCY, IL
Over 100 riders participated in our 1st annual – The Schlip Poker Run for Melanoma in Quincy, IL on Saturday, August 26. The event kicked-off at TNT Harley Davidson Action Sports.
The ride included stops at Hard Times II in Camp Point, Jay & Nancy ’s in Golden, Wood Inn in Carthage, Down on the Corner in Marcelline, and ended at The Budweiser Tent Jail Alley.
At the end of the ride, the music was a Jimmy Buffet Tribute.
In total, the event netted over $1,000 for Melanoma Research and Awareness.
